Mr BEAR UK
Mr BEAR UK is an annual competition that takes place at various locations throughout the UK, from North to South. We have also introduced online applications; so wherever you are in the UK, you are able to take part.
As Mr BEAR UK, you will be an Ambassador for the LGBTQ+ community, supporting good mental health and wellbeing; be a member of BEAR (Facebook Group); attend our Social Events and help raise money for charities; taking part in press releases; taking part in Pride Parades; preventing drug abuse; preventing male sexual violation and promoting safer sex.
Being a contestant and being Mr BEAR UK, you will be a role model. It will be a chance for you to help and inspire others gain confidence within the LGBTQ+ Community. You will be approachable and help future Contestants if they need support or guidance; act in an inclusive manner and be an inspiration to the community.
As Mr BEAR UK, you will represent, uphold and respect the role of Mr BEAR UK.
Stuart – Mr BEAR UK 2023
He competed at a qualifying regional round of Mr BEAR UK in 2023 in Manchester and emerged victorious at the finals which took place in that same year, at Sherlocks Bar in Blackpool.

What is your favourite sport?
Sport = not really my thing..rugby to look at though!
What made you enter Mr BEAR UK?
I entered because , why the hell not, it's a bit of fun and a way to meet new people
What did you win and what did you do/plan to do with the winnings?
I think it all went back behind various bars! Always good to give back lol
Can since winning, what have you been up to?
I have been to Mexico and shown off the sash I plan to walk a few prides and see what else I cam get involved in.
Kristian – Mr BEAR UK 2022
Kristian is Originally from Lebanon and now lives in Northampton

We asked Kristian…
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Primarily Barbados, but anywhere tropical with white sand beaches and clear lagoons would do
Do you have any pets?
Not at the moment, I had a beautiful Jack Russell who left us aged 18 and half, a week before the Mr Bear UK final.
What made you enter Mr BEAR UK?
Before this, I never believed in myself or had a feeling of belonging in any LGBTQ+ community. Entering this competition was a way for me to get to meet people and gage how strangers perceived the way I presented myself. Never would I have thought, I would get to the final, let alone win the votes of so many people I never met before. This humbled me massively and I am proud to call these guys friends now
What did you win and what did you do/plan to do with the winnings?
The prizes were a £100 voucher from a Bear clothing store which I quickly claimed and wore with pride.
My 2022 sash that I will treasure forever.
And of course the grand prize of £250 which, as I announced as soon as I won, was donated to Dogs Trust in the name of our dog we just lost.
Since winning, what have you been up to?
It has been a crazy year, full of events (all the major prides across the country), we obviously shot the Mr Bear UK calendar and the sales were donated All Out charity.
Been on the radio, done a few photoshoots and obviously partied a lot with wonderful people across the UK. Not to forget that I was made a moderator of the Bear HQ group

Taking Part
It doesn’t matter if you are, tall, short, young or old, Mr BEAR UK is a diverse competition and is meant to be fun. We look forward to receiving applications no matter what your gender expression is, sexual orientations, race or religion. It is a chance for you to have fun and build confidence; all at BEAR, from our Admins, to Moderators, to Members, to Previous Contestants; will support you.
The heats normally take place in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, Blackpool and Glasgow; and consist or numerous rounds where you get to show off your casual look to your beachwear/underwear. The Host will ask you some simple questions and may even get you to “dad dance”.
It is a chance to meet new people and make new friends with other contestants and members.
There are also prizes to be won, including a cash prize!
